Meta Platforms Inc. is rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion programs, according to a memo sent to employees, marking the tech giant’s latest cultural shift ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
Earlier this week, the Facebook and Instagram parent announced changes to its fact-checking approach, with chief executive Mark Zuckerberg citing the presidential election results as a “cultural tipping point.” Meta META had long been a target of Trump and his allies, who accused the company of anti-conservative bias and censorship. Trump has also been a vocal critic of DEI policies implemented in the aftermath of the 2020 murder of George Floyd.
