Brandi Carlile has won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Rock Song with “Broken Horses.” The track took home the award over other songs from Ozzy Osbourne (“Patient Number 9”), Red Hot Chili Peppers (“Black Summer”), Turnstile (“Blackout”), and the War on Drugs (“Harmonia’s Dream”).
“Broken Horses” appears on In These Silent Days, Carlile’s seventh studio album. The LP was also nominated for Album of the Year, with the tracks “You and Me on the Rock” and “Broken Horses” also recognized by the Recording Academy in the Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance categories, respectively. In general, Carlile was among the most-nominated artists at the 2023 Grammy Awards, having gotten nods in seven categories.
